ABOUT ME
I grew up in North Carolina and started writing almost from the time I started to read. I write small-town southern fiction, the ties that pull people together and those that push people apart. My current project is THE PROVOST AFFAIR, a cozy mystery set on a college campus and in the surrounding village in the mountains of North Carolina. It tells the story of what happens when when a routine-obsessed chief of staff becomes the chief suspect in her boss’s murder and has two weeks to solve the case and save her well-ordered life and the person she loves most.

I studied English at Wake Forest University, and earned a masters in journalism and a Ph.D. in higher education administration from the University of Georgia. I've written two non-fiction books and write a blog for Psychology Today on mentoring, management, and work.
